Apple closes back above its 50-day moving average

Apple (AAPL) closed Monday’s trading back above its 50-day moving average for the first time since May 2nd.

Apple’s stretch of 31 closes below its 50-day was its longest since it ended a 69 trading day streak on December 5th, 2008 (during the depths of the financial crisis).  As shown in the chart below, 31 days below its 50-day is not a long time for AAPL when you go back farther than a few years.  There have actually been ten longer streaks since 1999, with the longest occurring over 85 days from May through September of 2002.
