We look for dividends, quality and value, like Cisco Systems – Harvest Financial [radio interview]

Covestor model managers Jim Wright and John Fattibene of Harvest Financial were recently guests on the radio show at HealthyLife.net’s News @ 7. Harvest Financial manages Covestor’s Domestic Dividend model, which looks for three attributes in an investment:

1. Dividends: The company must pay a dividend with either a yield greater than the market’s or a rapidly growing dividend.

2. Quality: Quality companies can better weather the inevitable difficult times. They also provide more consistency in their earnings and cash flow. To this model quality means:

3. Valuation: The stock must be inexpensively priced when compared to earnings, cash flow and assets. In other words, this model invests when good companies go on sale.

In the interview embedded below (hit the play button to listen), Jim and John discuss this investment philosophy in greater depth and provide examples of recent positions, such as Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO).
